Reef Builders
Our SHEBA® Brand is committed to providing a fish-rich future and is proud to be part of one of the World’s Largest Coral Reef Restoration Programs through Sheba Hope Grows™. Today, as part of the broader Mars coral reef restoration program, we are proud to have built a global movement, working alongside partners at 72 reef sites, across 12 countries. Our restoration efforts remain anchored in our research and monitoring program as we continually test and scale our approach across the globe. As the program continues to grow, our restoration is led by science & nature and inspired by the passionate people we work alongside.
HOPE EVOLUTION
During the restoration of Hope Reef, our flagship site in Indonesia, from November 2019 to October 2025, MSS data reflects that coral growth increased from 2 to 82.5%. Over that same time period, fish populations increased by 8468%; biomass increased by 2353%; and there was a 292% rise in the number of fish species. In March 2026, a regional coral disease outbreak was identified in the Spermonde Archipelago, where multiple reefs, including HOPE Reef, were affected. Learn more about the recovery approach here.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
For over a decade, Mars Sustainable Solutions (MSS) in partnership with local communities, scientists, businesses, NGOs and governments, has been developing and implementing a simple, community-led solution to help restore damaged coral reefs globally. In 2019, on the coral rubble field of Salisi’ Besar, SHEBA® Hope Reef was built and a unique partnership was created between SHEBA® Brand and MSS. This partnership sent a strong and powerful message of the role brands and businesses can have as a force for good. In 2021, we unveiled Sheba Hope Reef to the world and initiated Sheba Hope Grows™, a 10-year commitment to restore the rest of Salisi’ Besar, as well as undertaking restoration at other locations around the globe in need of hope such as Australia, the Maldives, the US Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Kenya and Colombia.
